- I am a:Caregiver
- Chair Pro's:Easy to manoevre with good turning ability
- Chair Con's:Sluggish on inclines, battery pack inconvenient to remove and heavy
- Best Used:Indoors
- Recommend It:I wouldn't recommend this wheelchair
The wheelchair performance is fine except a bit sluggish on upward inclines. However it is fairly heavy and difficult for a woman to manage.
The battery pack is not "easy to remove", it is located under the seat of the wheelchair and has to be pulled upwards while you are leaning forward at an almost 90 degree angle and kneeling on the floor to access it. The battery pack weighs about 10kg - over 20 pounds. Unless you have enough strength in one arm to dislodge and lift the pack while supporting your body weight with the remaining arm, this movement puts heavy strain on your lower back.
I weigh about 55kg and the only way I can manage it is to lie chest down on the seat of the wheelchair so that my back is supported when I lift the battery pack and my arm muscles take most of the weight. This still means that I have to try and lift the pack with one arm without being able to see what I am doing, and it is just too heavy for me and too heavy to carry safely once I have removed it from the chair.
As far as "conveniently disassembling", into four pieces is concerned, you have to bear in mind that in order to disassemble it you have to first remove the battery pack as described above.
